Supporting evidence depends on the qualification route and, where relevant, whether the applicant has passed or is applying through the Overseas Registration Examination route.
Dental registration document translation
Certified English translation of non-English documents being prepared for General Dental Council registration. Upload the complete document set and include any route-specific instructions from the GDC.
Current GDC translation guidance
The GDC states that a document or certification not in English must be accompanied by a certified, signed translation. Its guidance also says the translation must be an exact translation produced by a qualified translator.
The GDC's current key-facts guidance says the translation should be on company letterhead and include the translator's signature, name and address. Applicants should still check the guidance for their own route because document-certification requirements vary by route.

Common registration documents
The documents required depend on the applicant and registration route. Use the dedicated document service where one exists rather than treating every GDC-related record as the same document type.
Registration route matters
The GDC has different application routes for UK-qualified applicants, EEA-qualified applicants, overseas-qualified dentists and overseas-qualified dental care professionals.
Supporting evidence depends on the qualification route and, where relevant, whether the applicant has passed or is applying through the Overseas Registration Examination route.
Dental care professionals applying with overseas qualifications should follow the document list and forms for the relevant DCP title.
Where supporting documents use different names or professional-status evidence is required, the applicant should follow the current GDC instructions for that evidence.
Translation scope
Professional registration documents often contain stamps, signatures, certification wording, tables and handwritten notes that form part of the record.
Award titles, institutions, modules, grades and dates should be translated faithfully rather than converted into UK equivalencies.
Relevant visible stamps, seals, signatures and certifier statements should be represented where they appear on the source.
If an English spelling already appears on a passport or other supporting record, provide it so recurring names can be checked consistently.
